Privacy Policy
Funsoon values your right to control what information you do or do not want others to see. There is a trade-off between making it easy to find new groups, events, and friends, and making information available to unwanted individuals or corporations. Funsoon recognizes that people have their own comfort level with privacy, and we give users a number of controls over how much information they want to make public. By using Funsoon, you certify that you have read, understand, and agree with the provisions of our privacy policy.
Information Funsoon Collects
Funsoon collects information for three different purposes.
First is your personal profile. This contains information you can upload so that other people using Funsoon can tell who you are, what your interests are, and what events you host or attend. You can see both public and private events that your are attending, but other users can only see public events you are attending. You can control who has access to your profile with your privacy settings. There are three privacy settings for your profile, and at any time you can change your privacy settings or any profile information.
Completely Private- Nobody but yourself can see your profile or events attending.
Friends Only- Gives your profile information only to people who are on your contact list.
Public- Any Funsoon user can access your profile information.
Second is event information for the event manager. This is the event page that users see. It contains information involving the location and time of the event as well as maps of the location, and surveys associated with the event. Events have two privacy settings, and the event creator can change the privacy settings and invited persons at any time.
Public- Events can be accessed by any user to the site. This setting is for events where you want people to be able to attend, for example for open pickup soccer games, or to parties where you want many people to attend. People can find these events using the search function.
Private- Events can be accessed only by those who are invited to the event. People cannot find these events using the search function. Use the private setting for events that are for a group of friends, for example a small birthday party.
Third is information collected for to improve the workings of Funsoon. This contains the history of events you have created, your contacts, and your survey questions. This information is not available to users or the site and cannot be accessed by a search function. We collect this information to streamline your use of the site, and to show you events you are most likely to enjoy through the search feature.
Funsoon does not sell or release this information for corporate purposes, including corporate data mining or collecting email addresses for spamming.
